Through Federal Government funding called “Building the Education Revolution” in 2009 under Kevin Rudd, Yeronga State School added a new Resource Centre which included a library and a computer room. The contents of the ‘old library’ moved from the Administration block and the computers moved from F block to their new home. New furniture with ‘flexible seating’ was purchased and made the areas bright and relaxing. These days we have a modern library where there are fewer non-fiction books due to accessibility of online resources. Reading is highly values and there are many fiction books for many levels and interests.

The Hall renovation included walls and ceilings lined, sports flooring, a kitchen, offices, toilets and a carpeted area. This space became the new headquarters for YOSHC (Yeronga Outside School Hours Care). With many working parents YOSHC is an important service provided through the YSS Parents and Citizens Association. In 2021, they cater for up to 180 students before and after school and during school holidays from 7am until 6pm.
