Introduced in 2014
Natures Play is a concept that involves students playing freely on open spaces. Of course, this happened naturally decades ago when students played outdoors at lunchtimes under large fig trees or in the Forestry plot building cubby houses. For current students, beside the pathway running from the Junior to the Upper school is a specifically designed area for students in Year 1 and 2 which includes access to water play and natural items such as trees, leaves, sticks and stones. Upper school children have Natures Play on the site of the old preschool/forestry plot beside Yeronga Park and also beside the main oval. In 2020, a loose parts container was introduced so children can use their imagination and be creative at lunchtime. The P&C has worked in with the school staff to benefit the students in getting “back to nature”.
